With “Droomverlore,” Horison opens a bold new musical chapter – an honest, introspective Afrikaans single about self-awareness, danger, innocence, discovery and ultimately, hope.
It’s a song rooted in memory and reflection: the fragile balance between freedom and control, between holding on and letting go, between dreaming and waking up.
Horison, a South African acoustic duo consisting of Albert Meintjies and Tanya Storm, is based in the Garden Route and are known for their emotive storytelling and rich, atmospheric soundscapes, brings this theme to life with striking honesty.
“If I could give my younger self advice and hope,” said Meintjes.
“This is what I would say: be careful. Droomverlore is my personal warning to myself to keep dreaming, but to tread lightly.”
Storm added: “The song reminds us to give without losing ourselves, and to listen to the call of our own internal compass.”
Droomverlore is an acoustic duet shaped with warmth and depth. It’s a piece soaked in honesty and humanity. It captures moments suspended in time: memories of growing up, of learning to understand who you were, and of finding the courage to offer guidance not only to others, but to yourself.
