He vowed he would never box again – not after he cracked his opponent’s rib with a tremendous blow, but this time it is personal and Frazer “Scarface Harry” McLean has come out of retirement to show Big G who’s boss when they meet in the ring at Barrydale Fight tomorrow (Saturday).

“We are delighted to confirm this match-up between two fighters who will undoubtedly bring some exhilarating energy to the event,” Barrydale Panic Room promoter Conroy Williams said at the weigh-in which took place at News62 headquarters this week.

“These men are braver than most and just the fact that they have agreed to participate in this community initiative goes to show just how much people care about this beautiful place we call home,” Williams added.

As for Frazer who will head into his bout as the underdog – yes everybody loves the underdog – this fight marks the first time since last year’s Fight Night that he will be able to test out the boxing gloves he won in the raffle draw.

“We are blessed that the business community of Barrydale have once again sponsored several amazing prizes that will be revealed at this year’s raffle draw. Thanks guys.”

Persons who have purchased a ticket to the event qualifies for a free boerewors roll or hamburger and their ticket will be entered into the raffle draw.

Live entertainment confirmed

They have also prepared a few songs to play at the conclusion of the big fights and have officially challenged Ozzy and the Saloon Dogs to a Battle of the Bands showdown.

In other news, the Jazz Monkeys Band need to consider hiring a booking agent as it is becoming nearly impossible to find them.

Back the second edition of Barrydale Fight Night, it is important to note that funds raised at this event will go towards the construction of a clubhouse turned dojo where several extramural activities in town will be practised.
