The Station Showroom Interior Collective Opens in Montagu

Written by Mickey Mentz

Montagu entered a new era for local design and slow-made craftsmanship on November 1 with the official opening of The Station Showroom Interior Collective.

Positioned to become a leading interiors destination on Route 62, this new space brings together some of the Klein Karoo’s most respected furniture makers, designers and artisan producers under one curated roof.

The venue aims to create a central creative hub where community, authentic making, sustainability and functional beauty meet.

The collective features several well-known local brands.

Klein Karoo Handelshuis offers premium second-hand furniture that is sourced carefully, restored where needed and priced accessibly. Owners Boeman and Marina, both Montagu locals since childhood, say their mission is to support their town with quality pieces that remain affordable.

Woodscape Karoo produces industrial-style furniture with sustainability as its foundation. They create pieces from alien invasive timber and unite steel and wood for bold statement furniture. Brothers Fritz and Piet bring decades of design, sculpture and landscaping experience to their work.

Ronel Neethling Interiors, established in 2000, contributes more than 25 years of expertise in tailored interiors, custom blinds, bespoke curtains, reupholstery and styling for homes, guesthouses, hotels, offices and commercial spaces.

Local ceramic artists also form part of the curated offering.
Hartspotterì produces dishwasher and oven-safe handmade pottery from their farm in the Koo Valley.

Riana creates heirloom-inspired clay pieces on a Montagu farm, each influenced by nostalgic crockery and lace pattern detail passed down through generations.

Jumping Jackal completes the line-up with craft chilli products grown on their Montagu farm. The brand focuses on sustainable farming, recyclable packaging and long flavour maturation, with each batch only revealing its true profile after more than a year.

The Station Showroom Interior Collective introduces a new central space where Klein Karoo makers can sell, collaborate and give local creativity a permanent, elevated stage.

A significant creative landmark has arrived for Route 62.
