From the heart of the Mother City to the kief countryside of Barrydale, Nomadic Orchestra will be in charge of getting the party going at the Unplugged62 music and outdoor Festival that will be taking place at the Joubert-Tradauw Vineyards and Cellar from 17 to 21 March.
Barrydale is a gorgeous place. If you haven’t been there yet, it really is an awesome place to visit.

In staying true to the theme of their latest album ‘Out and About’ the band is excited to be one of the main attractions at a music festival that will incorporate a host of awesome outdoor activities like the launch of an all new cycle loop, hiking trails and nature walks.
“We are so exited to be playing in Barrydale at Unplugged62 because in recent times there have been so few festivals and just to know that there are people creating these beautiful festivals in amazing spaces is really exciting,” said Nomadic Orchestra frontman Gabriel du Toit.
Nomadic Orchestra excited to be doing what they love
Gabriel said that although the band enjoyed returning to the stage in 2022 following the pandemic, they noticed that the hype of previous years was not quite there yet.
He feels that 2023 will be the year to get out and about again.
“Barrydale is a gorgeous place. If you haven’t been there yet, it really is an awesome place to visit and we know we are going to enjoy sharing in the music, food, wine and fun activities that form part of this festival.”

What fans can expect
Nomadic Orchestra is known for their infectious kind of high-energy dance music that results in even the most prudish members of the audience finding themselves unconsciously tapping their feet.
“Our fans and even people who have not seen us can expect us to bring our absolute best high energy performance. We are going to be fun, we are going to be silly and hopefully you will love it too.”
“We are going to bring that bounce we bring every time, so come and bounce with us!
Nomadic Orchestra is strongly influenced by traditional music from the countries of South-Eastern Europe: Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.

They are also influenced by Klezmer, gypsy and circus music as well as contemporary western party music. Their musical training brings a strong jazz aesthetic to the band, and thus an emphasis on improvisation. The music that the Nomads play is original and composed by members of the band.
More than just amazing music
The Unplugged62 Festival not only features world class acts like Nomadic Orchestra, Matthew Mole, Nick Turner/Jannie Hanepoot, Hugo Veldsman, Faraway Geroge and Fritz Gun – three Deephouse DJ’s (DJ Kali, DJ Butters, DJ Adi Fowler) will keep the party going into the early hours of each morning.
During the day family orientated activities like the all new Tradouw Valley cycle loop, various hiking trails and events that include a lamb- and kebab spit, a High Tea, a champagne brunch and a harvest table will ensure that there is something for everyone.
Booking for most of these activities can be made in advance on Quicket.
There is ample camping available for festival goers while those who do not wish to sleep directly under the stars can book their stay in the several enchanting places in town.
