Trees of remembrance planted at Barrydale Clinic

Written by Mickey Mentz

To say that the last few months have been emotionally taxing on Barrydale residents would be an understatement of note.

Since the start of this year so many kind, loving, caring people (and pets) have passed away not only here but in our neighbouring towns as well.

Many of these losses of life transpired under circumstances that we will never understand.

To honour these loved ones who were taken too soon, a group of Barrydale residents decided that it would be a good idea to plant trees of remembrance at the Barrydale Clinic.

The first tree was planted on April 22 and it is hoped that when these plants stand tall and proud and provide the shade to the sick who visit the clinic.

Persons who would like to get involved in this initiative can phone Shane Petzer on 079 318 4289.
