At Lloyds they go the extra mile for a smile

Chef Zalda shows her diversity by preparing a custom meal for a new patron

While it has become a well known fact that the Durban currie’s that are served at Lloyds on Route 62 are simply irresistible, we also have to commend Zalda Hughs and her team for going the extra mile.

During a recent visit to their fine establishment that is located just 15km outside of Barrydale a new patron, who joined the News62 team for a late lunch, had requested a dish that they do not usually serve.

Owner and chef Zalda was, however, up for the challenge and presented the South Indian meal (Masala Dosa) that could just as well have been prepared in Tuluva Udupi where it originates from.

For Dan Brownlow, who was wise enough to phone in this treat, the experience reminded him of his days as a tourist in India.

It was simply amazing to see how a taste can take a man back in time and for this, Zelda, we salute you!
