Ashton in Action (AIA) a Leading Community Development Organisation in Asthon has confirmed that an all new Ashton Vocational Academy is set to open its doors in January 2025.
This state-of-the-art facility for 240 learners will offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip high school learners with practical skills and knowledge essential for their future careers.
The Ashton Vocational Academy will be a public ordinary no-fee school as set out in the Western Cape Education Department’s Policy on the Collaboration Schools Pilot Programme.
The school will be built and managed in a public private partnership (PPP) between the local community and the Western Cape Education Department (WCED).
In terms of this model 60% of the building costs have to be raised by the local community, with the WCED providing 40%.
Unlocking the potential of the youth
